An album about escapism.

DISCLAIMER! This is not a meme nor is it a joke. I genuinely appreciate Raditude in many ways, I think it has a lot of really great songs and I see Weezers having fun with escapism and River exploring the pop music he loves.

But i didn't cover this just because i enjoy it, if i did it because of that id cover a lot more albums. But I got the idea to do a cover of Raditude while listening to Outkasts classic song Unhappy on loop and I heard the classic hook, ”Might as well have fun 'cause your happiness is done when your goose is cooked”. Right around this time I was feeling terrible, a mix of external and internal factors had made the last few months enjoyable and had left me hopeless and sad. So when i heard that lyric i tried to think, what could i do, i lie around here sad could i do anything fun? And it suddenly hit me, I should cover every song on Weezer's infamous but lovable album Raditude. That led me to suddenly start. In many ways this process was healing for me, both reinstating some confidence in myself and my voice and having fun trying out different styles. In the same way one of the main themes of Raditude is escapism into pop music. This project became my escapism into Weezer. I am eternally thankful for both Weezer as well as having worked on this project and all the joy it brought me.

There's no delusions about trying to improve Weezer's work or to try to replicate it. I try to stay true to what I see is the heart of many of these songs but of course take creative liberty and reinterpret Weezer's work.
